| THE WINNER OF SAF Arts Award Geof Reed The winner was Geof Reed who comes from Sheppey received £700 which he is going to use to research the lives of people who have lived in his (old) Sheerness house over the years. He will then write a historic script based on this heritage which will be brought to life with a performance by the Big Fish Theatre Group which includes Geoff as one of its members. The runner up Maria McCarthy from Teynham received £100 Jim Tipp from Sittingbourne was highly commended and received £50 Commendations went to Ellie Straine-Francis and Rodney |
| LIFE DRAWING CLASSES Tuesday 16th Febraury 6.30-8.30 16th February LB Graphics is running Life Drawing Classes these start again on Tuesday 16th February at the Avenue Theatre, Remembrance Avenue, Sittingbourne. Cost is £8 per session - artists bring all your own materials. 6.30-8.30pm. Stage door entrance. Doors open from 6.15 but close at 6.45 - so be prompt. |

| Swale Arts Forum Bursary Swale Arts Forum Bursary submissions are now closed. The Bursary Award submissions date is past and all work submitted is now being prepared for judging. We can look forward to the presentation at the Sheppey Little Theatre on 6th February. In the emantime all the best to those taking part. |

| Art Exhibition Sheppey Writers support local Arts Society The Sheppey writers group are supporting the Sheppey Arts Society exhibition of paintings at the Sheerness Library. Paintings will be shown from September 21st 2009 to October 19th 2009. Bob Collins and James Apps of Sheppey Writers and Island Artists have pintings in the exhibition. |

| Artists in the Woods Sheppey Writers joining in with a worthy event. Sheppey writers will be like bears in the woods and roam about harangueing unsuspecting visitors with poems and short stories in suppoert of the Artists in the Woods event on the 12th July this year. |
